It's a bit hard to believe that it's here. It was over a year ago now that I got a email from Jerome at Villa Lena asking me to come along.
I was pretty excited, 24 hours later, I had been able to have a chat to the guys there are about what they are doing and talk about what an artist residency at Lena would look like.
And here we are. Well, almost.
I decided to take the opportunity to shoot Hong Kong and Shanghai on the way. Two places that have interested me for a long time. Two places that I knew would push me.
So here I am, it's day one in Hong Kong, and it was crazy.
I've been to Japan a number of times, KL as well but thats about it as far as my Asia journeys are concerned. Japan has been good for me because this place is equally as epic.
It's big, not as big as Tokyo but still big enough to make you feel like you are completely insignificant. The density of the building and apartments here is full on. It's why I wanted to shoot here but I couldn't help but think how lucky we are in Australia to have the space we do, even if it feels like it's shrinking every day. The shot above is a shot I took today in Kowloon.
